We all know that Milan are not at the level we are used to seeing them at. This current season has had some highs and lows, but the biggest thing we will remember is that Silvio Berlusconi sold the club this season. The sale and new ownership represents a new beginning for the Rossoneri. Berlusconi admitted he couldn’t provide what Milan needed in order to compete with the biggest clubs in Europe. With new, wealthy owners, comes money to spend. Milan are wasting no time looking to upgrade their talent for Vincenzo Montella.
Based on media reports; Milan are set to upgrade their defensive line by signing Villarreal’s Mateo Musacchio and Wolfsburg’s Ricardo Rodriguez. Certainly these two additions would help solidify their defense and help protect their star Gianluigi Donnarumma out. Pairing Alessio Romagnoli with Musacchio gives Milan two talented pillars in the middle of their defense. Ricardo Rodriguez will provide Milan with a fullback that can contribute on both ends of the field. Rodriguez loves coming forward and whipping in crosses, something their current fullbacks struggle with. Montella would love to have a fullback on his roster with the skill set that Ricardo Rodriguez has.
The Italian media is also reporting that Atalanta’s jewel midfielder Franck Kessie has decided to join Milan this summer over Roma. Both Italian clubs have been vying for the midfielder and both reached a deal with Atalanta, but the project in Milan appears to be more appealing.
Something Milan fans will pay great attention to this summer is the talk about a new contract for Donnarumma, and a potential sale of Carlos Bacca. Mattia De Sciglio has been rumored to be on his way out, and with the potential arrival of Ricardo Rodriguez, it might just happen.
