Milan’s new ownership group is already making a big splash in the summer transfer market and show no signs of stopping. They have signed two players that will likely slot right into Montella’s starting lineup; Mateo Musacchio and Franck Kessie. The new owners have also extended Montella’s contract until 2019, making him the leader of this new project.

According to the Italian media, the Rossoneri are close to signing Lazio’s Lucas Biglia. If they could sign Biglia, in addition to already having signed Kessie, that would be a great upgrade to their midfield. Musacchio is not the only defender Milan are looking to sign, they are reportedly close to signing Wolfsburg’s Ricardo Rodriguez. The Swiss international would provide Milan with a duel-threat player, who can defend, but also contribute a great amount in the attacking phase of the game. They are also looking to sign Atalanta’s defender Andrea Conti. Atalanta are asking for €20 million. Conti was the top scoring defender in Europe’s top 5 leagues, he scored 8 goals and helped Atalanta reach the Europa League.

Milan want to hit a home-run this summer by signing a top striker. Their number one choice is Real Madrid’s Alvaro Morata. The Spaniard played in Italy with Juventus, so he is familiar with Serie A; an advantage for Milan. Also, Morata’s soon-to-be wife is Italian. Some reports in Italy say Milan already has a deal in place with Morata, but a deal still needs to be worked out with Real Madrid. Milan are considering Torino’s striker Andrea Belotti as an alternative to Morata.

Perhaps Milan’s top priority this summer is securing a new deal with their prized possession Gianluigi Donnarumma. The 18-year old goalie recently expressed his desire to remain with the Rossoneri, music to the ears of all Milan fans.

Plenty of time left in the summer mercato for Milan to continue improving their team. Here is a look at a potential lineup for next season:
